Ones own logs will contain the exim-id and a timestamp. as exim does not do
parallell deliveries of individual messages that should be sufficient to find
the failure in the logs.

The HELO name if configured correctly will match that. If not there's little
than can be done, as NAT rules can be random, and/or treat different
destination ports differently.
