If it's missing entropy (you can check it on Linux systems with
watching the output of
sysctl kernel.random.entropy_avail
)
And then try to feed the random generator. We use the rng-tools
(configuring /dev/urandom as a source for new entropy in
/etc/default/rng-tools). I newer installation we use the havegd.
Probably your board has a built-in hardware random generator and you
can make use of it.
At least it should help to locate the problem.
