(gdb) print tblock
$6 = (struct transport_instance *) 0x0

but
(gdb) print ob
$7 = (smtp_transport_options_block *) 0x999f478

and
smtp_transport_options_block * ob =
(smtp_transport_options_block *)tblock->options_block;

Maybe an oddity of my pretty old gdb?
GNU gdb (GDB) CentOS (7.0.1-45.el5.centos)
