Subject: [exim] Maintaining Exim version up-to-date in EPEL
Hello,

Do maintainers of Exim in popular repositories appear in these lists (namely, EPEL)?

I am using Exim in almost all Linux environments due to its features. However, when I recently had to refine setups (due to necessity to phase out older SSL settings), I found that EPEL contains 4.72 version, which is often named 'ancient' in this and other mailing lists.

There was no problem to build 4.86 from sources, but that defeats the purpose of repositories, to lift the routine work of checking latest versions and updaing (manually) accordingly. Let alone handle the nightmare of mismatched software components versions.

I am contacing the maintainers of EPEL directly on their own lists, but I am curious whether they are present here, as well.

Thanks.

Sincerely,
Konstantin
