Without knowing what context your new event was raised, and created the
variable,
I'll not get further on this.
Creating an acl_m variable is broken; fix in acl.c about line 3743 adding
"|| event_name" to the condition for using POOL_PERM.
However, caveats on usability of variables remain:
a) variables set in events raised from transports will not
be visible outside the transport.
b) acl_m variables in a server context are lost on a new connection,
and after helo/ehlo/mail/starttls/rset commands
