Indeed I hadn't considered copyrighting or licensing issues for the test
data, and as far as I'm concerned you can do what you like with it. So
yes, it can be considered public domain. I will put some words to that
effect into the LICENCE file. (Just in time for the 8.37 release of
PCRE1, and I'll also do it for the next release of PCRE2.)
