It is documented that PCRE2 never captures within negative assertions. When I
last checked, Perl was inconsistent on this. However, I now see that Perl does
match your example. I will check it further and if necessary make a change to
PCRE2. The documentation is in the pcre2compat page; I have made a note to make
it clearer in other places as well.
