Hi,

That still doesn't explain why when custom compiling it, it doesn't work.
Whether it's compiled from ports or not, it should work. If it doesn't
work (such as my case), I am looking for reasons as to why it is not
working.

There are reasons why I custom compile my exim (instead of using ports) -
that is hardly relevant to my post.
