local_delivery:
driver = appendfile
# file = /var/mail/$local_part
directory = /home/$local_part/.maildir
maildir_format
delivery_date_add
envelope_to_add
return_path_add

here is the extract of our exim.conf that worked out for a long time on our
gentoo with exim 4.80

I recently updated to 4.84, but exim dies with "maildir_format" unknown
option...
I reverted quickly to 4.80, and mails arrive again :)

I realize that I should maybe have transport = maildrop_pipe for local users
instead of local_delivery,
but I have no test machine and I can't afford to break things for the testing
time,
hence I hope someone will help me correct the exim.conf..
Is it a bug or something in 4.84 ? or is it a misconception of mine when I
setup maildir within local_delivery ?
