With circa 120-200 spam attempts every day, although less at weekends, I
am rejecting everything including:-
* no host name
* no rDNS
* none resolving HELO/EHLO
* host names on the my spammers' list
* host names that appear to be home Internet connections
If people wish to email me, then have a HELO/EHLO that resolves to the
host name.
With wonderful Exim that is extremely simple to achieve. It could not be
easier. If I, then a complete Linux and Exim novice, can do that on the
first day I used Exim,. I am sure others can too.
If mail senders wish to use sloppily configured MTA, kindly avoid
blaming me for other people's sub-standard workmanship. It is quick and
easy to have properly resolving HELO names. I can make a change to an
Exim configuration file, then upload to it to 4 servers in 4 different
countries and restart all of them is less than 1 minute total time.
