I'm trying to setup mailman list for our daycare. I'm getting "relay not
permitted" in /exim4/mainlog. This is a public server that our parents can
use to reach teachers or other parents (via mailman lists).

Exim is a Mail Transfer Agent. It is normally called by Mail User Agents,
not directly from a shell command line. Options and/or arguments control
what it does when called. For a list of options, see the Exim documentation.
