Resolving as WORKSFORME since this seems to be working as intended. When
considering future changes, "could this break existing correct code?" is often
a useful question to be asking, but this particular one has happened already so
all we can do is make the best of it.

According to codesearch.debian.net, basically all users of g_regex_match_all in
Debian are language bindings, for what it's worth - it doesn't seem to be
widely-used functionality, unless all its users happen to be using it via
Pascal or C++ or something rather than C.
