$dmarc_used_domain is also empty in both cases.
Since your WARNING output comes in front of "<=" ... is it possible that you're
printing dmarc variables in the RCPT or MAILFROM ACLs instead of the DATA ACL?
$dmarc_ar_header is missing a default value/initialization if I read the source
correctly. So, if you're using it before
warn dmarc_status = *
is called you'll get garbage.
