Summary: Eximstats H parsing fails, when helo contains ip address
           Product: Exim
           Version: 4.76
          Platform: x86-64
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: bug
          Priority: medium
         Component: Eximstats
        AssignedTo: nigel@???
        ReportedBy: jan@???
                CC: exim-dev@???

When doing
$eximstats /var/log/exim4/mainlog

beside other entries it shows:
.
.
.
Top 50 rejected ips by message count
------------------------------------
  Messages Rejected ip
        52 [10.104.165.233]
.
.
.

The above IP address in [] is not the remote IP address, it was just part of
the helo/ehlo command. It is the private IP address of the machine sending the
email.

Looking at the mainlog shows the following entry:

2013-08-08 21:02:10 [3256] H=87-236.197-178.cust.bluewin.ch ([10.104.165.233])
[178.197.236.87]:61000 I=[192.168.0.4]:25 F=<xxx@???> rejected RCPT
<xxx.xxx@???>: relay not permitted

Instead of 10.104.165.233 I expected to see 178.197.236.87 in eximstats's
output.

It seems the parsing fails, when the helo/ehlo command contains an IP address.

Version: 4.76-3ubuntu3.2
