I have no access to any Mac environment, so I can't do any testing myself.
Please can you run pcretest with the following input file:
/((?>[^()]+)|\([^()]*\))+/D
((abc(ade)ufh()()x
/((?>[^()]+)|\([^()]*\))+/C
((abc(ade)ufh()()x
(Note the blank line in the middle.) The debugging output that this produces
might help in figuring out what is going on. The fact that it fails both with
and without JIT suggests that the problem may be at compile time.
