Anyone using eximon anymore?
I have myself always liked to have eximon running on my exim-servers,
taking a glimpse on traffic and the queues once in a while. Sometimes a
message even gets stuck and needs help to be delivered or discarded.
exim has been our main mailer since 1998.
However when we started to move our servers from Solaris to Linux
(RHEL6) the behaviour of eximon became somewhat strange. Switching from
Xaw to Xaw3d helped some.
This patch is correcting exim_monitor files and OS/Makefile-Base to use
Xaw3d. It also handles the strange behaviour on scrolling, the
queue-display and copying to the pastebuffer when the queue is short.
The patch also introduces some new buttons.
One can toggle the shown messages on the queue beetween all, frozen and
normal messages. The update button follows this choice.
One can stop the log to be updated in the upper screen, quite handy when
looking closer to a log line or when copying to the pastebuffer. Also
when spammers hammer the log with tens of 'user unknown' every second,
the log display can be quite annoying. Setting QUIET_LOG to yes in the
environment upon startup, also makes eximon run more smoothly on a slow
remote connection.
