I have just tested it with Perl 5.12.4 and 5.15.3 and in both cases the
same result as PCRE (latest code) is obtained. I have not yet had time
to work out why, but the compatibility with Perl suggests that it is a
"feature" rather than a bug. I'll try to dig deeper soon and post the
result.
