The you should describe how those functions work and don't expect us
to guess which version etc. of those functions you mean.

pcre has a C interface where your C++-Code is not available, but there
already is a C++-wrapper called pcrecpp which you may use. It supports
up to 16 capture groups with different datatypes returnable.
