first-cut patch for 64b integer values; linux x86_64 specific

It's high time 64bit numeric value were supported.

Attached is a patch which works on an x86_64 Linux. I've not tried elsewhere
and care will be needed not only for the specific type I've used (int64_t) but
also #defines (LLONG_MAX) and printf/scanf patterns (%lld).
