Updated version of Phil Brutsche's patch to strip ASCII NUL from message data
I have adapted the patch from Phil Brutsche in
http://lists.andrew.cmu.edu/pipermail/info-cyrus/2003-April/014399.html to
strip ASCII NUL and keep cyrus happy. It does not apply cleanly to 4.76, but
it's easy enough to patch manually. Exim starts and runs ok so far.
Our source of emails with NULs is some crons run by fcron. I don't know if
fcron should have filtered the NULs or it's exim task, but I found it easier to
do in only one place, the central exim server to avoid losing the cron logs.
I think the patch is small and unobtrusive enough to apply without issues to
the next release, of course I could be wrong.
