Strange. The dropdown doesn't even appear, unless JavaScript enables it.
It then attaches a simple onchange event to the select tag. Is anyone
else seeing this problem?

Unfortunately not. Like I said, the website is completely static. A
collective decision was made to keep the site static when I redesigned
it, so that it would continue to work with the mirrors and would be easy
to host/maintain.
