Everything boils down to feedback loops and what behaviour is encouraged.

Exim's highly pragmatic, with support for all sorts of stupidity. But that it
just to get things working at the level of well-behaving peers.

Actively _rewarding_ a client for breaking protocol, so that they benefit
_more_ than those who follow the rules, is a very bad precedent to set.

Soon it would be an arms race, "oh, can I ignore this limit set by the server?
I can? Cool!" ... "What do you mean yoyodyne mua can't send large mails, it
must be broken, my mua can!"

I am actively opposed to this functionality being added to Exim.
