I fully support this view. See my Comment #1 which I wrote two years ago.
Now it's four years since we activated accept_8bitmime and there was never
ever any problem with this.
IMHO it's far more important to advertise 8BITMIME and correctly accept 8bit
email, than trying to be fully compliant with RFC written back in year 1994.
