After thinking about this, I agree with you that it is a bug, especially as the
documentation explicitly says the sequence \r\n "cannot be split up" and also
that \R is equivalent to (?>\r\n|\n|\x0b|\f|\r|\x85). I have committed a patch
that fixes the bug. Interestingly, Perl (v5.12.2) has the same bug!
