Oh, I lost this text:
I downloaded the Postfix source and took a brief look: they have a regression
suite which confirms that the response code for these errors is 5xx. So I
think it's either an old bug (encourage the admins to upgrade) or a
configuration error, as Graeme notes.
But this is no reason to force others to suffer, I stand by my support for a
generic 4xx->5xx upgrade feature.
