Sadly, not in detail .. generally it is the route table that determines
the outgoing interface, so you could start by looking at that. You will
probably find the 'ip route' command to be more flexible than the more
traditional 'route' one.
I'd hazard a guess that your two interfaces are both in the same
network, and that your route table defines a gateway host, but not a
specific interface. However, further investigation isn't really in scope
for this list, as you say. :-)
