Duplicate named groups are allowed in PCRE, but you have to set the
PCRE_DUPNAMES option at compile time. There is a fair bit about this in the
PCRE documentation.
I don't know whether PHP allows you to ask for this, however. I'm closing this
as "invalid" as I don't think it is a PCRE issue.
