It's EXT3. It wasn't an unplanned reboot, but from the exim logs I can tell
when the first failure occurred, and at that time I was experimenting with
another application that crashed big time. I didn't reboot, but I did stop
and restart many processes. I can't recall exim being one of them; maybe it
should have been.

I shall put it down to life's rich tapestry.
