Summary: Exim should support salted hashes
Product: Exim
Version: N/A
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: wishlist
Priority: medium
Component: SMTP Authentication
AssignedTo: nigel@???
ReportedBy: peter.meier+exim@???
CC: exim-dev@???
It looks like exim doesn't support SSHA or any other salted hash algorithm. In
[1] it is mentioned that it could be implemented in exim.
It would be nice to have support for salted hashes, so you could directly
authenticate against salted hashes.
Currently the only way I see is to use dovecot auth to authenticate against
such hashes, which you can have present on the box you run exim, but you might
not want to. So direct support would be nice.
