OK, I'm running a special debug version now and hoping for a crash.
As a reminder for those who might have an Eureka moment given this hint, all
the reporters of this bug experienced it only on AMD64 versions of the binary
and I have not seen this happen on i386 (32bit) binaries on any machines here.
