This is an OS packaging issue.
Presumably this is on Fedora or similar? Did you install from an rpm? [If you did not install from rpm then I would be expect you to have to do a lot of manual fiddling to make alternatives work].
Best to raise a bug report through the distributions preferred reporting mechanism.
