[exim] Exim4 to Syslog on Lenny ?

Hi All,

exim4 on Debian Lenny seems to ignore the directive:
log_file_path = syslog
whenever I put it in:
/etc/exim4/exim4.conf.template
or
/etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf

exim4 -bP log_file_path
continues to return:
log_file_path = /var/log/exim4/%slog

how do I make exim4 log to Syslog on Debian Lenny ?
