I found out, that under some circumstances pcre compiles - I tracked it down to
the generated Makefiles. With one Makefile it compiles, with the other it does
not. I'm about to patch the Makefiles so they become more equal until the error
is triggered.... I'll keep you posted what it triggers and if this is still a
pcre problem or an AIX / pkgsrc problem.
