Exim is a Message Transfer Agent (MTA). Microsoft Exchange is a
fully-featured Groupware system.

Exim does (very well) a small part of what Exchange does (not so well).

Exim is not a POP3 or IMAP server, nor does it provide webmail.

You could use Exim as part of a wider system but you'd lose a lot of the
functionality your users may be used to, and require.

Other list subscribers may offer more entertaining opionions :)
