Exim is an MTA, so it will send mails via SMTP, even to/via Yahoo,
provided the fact that they allow it (probably using
SMTP-authentication).
Exim does not rececive mails via POP. But it receives mails via SMTP,
acting as a client. If Yahoo can forward the messages (sent to your
account via SMTP) to your host, exim can be configured to receive this
messages.
If the mails are already caught in your Yahoo account, you probably want
to use fetchmail (or some other POP3 client) to fetch this messages to
your own box.
It's a quite unprecise answer.
