I admit that my adding USER_LABEL_PREFIX was a cargo-cult fix (since
before that, the alias was broken on OS X, I think?)
If you have a patch that fixes this correctly on all the relevant
architectures (linux, os x i386, os x ppc) then I'm happy for Philip
to apply it! I don't claim to have any actual knowledge here; this
prefix stuff is a black art to me.
