Hmm, I think it's time that you posted log entries that aren't obfuscated.
Given that you don't know what the problem is, you aren't in a position to
guess which bits of evidence might be useful in resolving the problem.

My guess is that alpine is submitting the email twice. The first time it's
rejected, the second time alpine is falling back to a different
configuration and succeeding.

Switch on all your logging switches with "log_selector +all", run the test
again, and post the result without obfuscation.
