[exim] Exim + Smartsieve anybody ?

Dear Collegues,

is anybody using Smartsieve (http://smartsieve.sourceforge.net/)
in combination with Exim and will let me share his/her experience ?

Are there "better" alternatives ?
What is puzzling me, is that there ist a 1.0-release candidate from
2007 and nothing since then.

What do you take to put the sieve filter into the users mailhome ?
I have "real" mailhomes here.
No Cyrus is spoken here - just Courier.
There is such a thing as "pysieved" (https://woozle.org/~neale/src/pysieved/),
this seems to do the trick. Right ? Good / bad ?
