[exim] Multiple smarthosts

Hi,

I am wondering whether anyone can help me with the following.

If I enter multiple smarthosts separated by : in the Exim configuration, will that force all mail through the smart host, and if that doesn't work, then the second smarthost will be tried, or will it connect to either smarthost in a semi random fashion?
