Subject: [exim] exim4 with Ubuntu 8.04, Outgoing interface dont work correctly
Hello,

i'm using exim4 on Ubuntu 8.04 and got the following problem. On my
system i use an eth0 Interface with the IP Number A.B.C.176, and 10
additional interaces (eth0:1 to eth0:11) with IP number A.B.C.1 to
A.B.C.D.11

I configure local_interface = A.B.C.176, so for incoming connection it
works. I only get an connection if i use telnet A.B.C.176 25, not on
the other interfaces.

But if the exim server send mails, it use A.B.C.11 (-eth0:11). I try
several configuration, exim ignore all my configuration. I be sure,
that i restart exim4, there are not other interface configuration, the
primary_hostname is set on the FQDN of A.B.C.176, and so on.

So, i dont have no idea, what are going wrong and what will be the
best (non hack) solutions. Any hints ?

regards

Frank
