Then either
1) The sending MTA was not contacting your MTA at all. could be broken MX
entry. try doing it manualy using telnet. could as well be a distro specific
default firewall.
2) you are looking at the wrong log. check your debian manual or default
config for where they put the logs. Also check the debian specific patches
for code that might route logs in a different way then upstream exim.

That's of no use, sorry. I can't even try manualy if you obfuscate sender and
receiver.
A bounce would be much more usefull.
