I have this running in root crontab, would SUID apply?

I tried
03 14 * * * root /usr/sbin/eximstats -nr -nt /var/log/exim/main.log.1

and got an additional log lin in /var/log/cron
May 30 14:03:01 mta-eye crond[7823]: (root) CMD (root
/usr/sbin/eximstats -nr -nt /var/log/exim/main.log.1)
May 30 14:03:01 mta-eye crond[7822]: (root) MAIL (mailed 35 bytes of
output but got status 0x0001 )

I also tried creating a crontab for user exim, no change.
