The logs show 'Expansion of ... contains non-printing character'.

But i wasn't aware of Exim automagically converting headers to some
other character set when using just '$h_'. Using '$rh_' seems to fix it,
as Tony suggested.

Now i actually wonder why converting to a local charset is the default :)
