I have to believe you :-) because, as I say, I'm pretty ignorant about

That sounds as though it is is suitably flexible. Thanks for the
research.
I am happy to put those patches on, unless anybody on the list shouts
(soon) to tell me not to. I'll do this shortly, and post when I've
committed the modified files. I am about to start pulling together a 7.7
release.
