Actually, you need to say this:

"Auto: ${escape:$h_subject:}"

"Auto: " is recommended by rfc3834, 3.1.5. More importantly, the
"escape:$h_subject:" handles the case where the original Subject is carried
over two lines. Without the escape, Exim generates illegal headers
(omitting the leading spaces in the second line) and refuses to handle the
auto-reply!
