The package was not built by the Debian project. Ubuntu takes Debian,
makes undocumented changes[1], re-builds the packages and ships them
as their own product.
Frankly, I already spend too much of my personal time supporting
Debian, so I am not very motivated to track Ubuntu's releases and the
changes they make to the packages.

Ubuntu takes the praise, so they should also do the work and offer
their own support medium.
