This works correctly using pcretest in the current release of PCRE, which is
7.6:
PCRE version 7.6 2008-01-28

Many bugs have been fixed since PCRE 5.0 (13-Sep-04). I don't remember this
being one, however. Also note that I am testing on Linux, as I am not a Windows
user.
