Subject: [exim] Using smartrelay getting unrouteable address error
Hi,

Im trying to get a very basic config working, I just want my system to pass email to an SMTP server for delivery.
Im using debian UNIX and the method of configuration I used was dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config
I go through the screens of dpkg to configure everything up, and after when I restart the exim daemons I cannot
send email because in the mainlog it says:

2008-01-31 17:56:00 1JKddo-0003mt-D7 <= root@??? U=root P=local S=335
2008-01-31 17:56:00 1JKddo-0003mt-D7 ** a.smith@???: Unrouteable address
2008-01-31 17:56:00 1JKddo-0003mv-EH <= <> R=1JKddo-0003mt-D7 U=Debian-exim P=local S=1130
2008-01-31 17:56:00 1JKddo-0003mv-EH ** root@???: Unrouteable address
2008-01-31 17:56:00 1JKddo-0003mv-EH Frozen (delivery error message)
2008-01-31 17:56:00 1JKddo-0003mt-D7 Completed

THe email address is valid, I changed it in the above so it doesnt get read by any nast spam scripts from the list site...
Anyway, basically its a prob cos Ive never done this before and dont know exim. Hopefully someone can give a very
simple solution! :P

If you want to keep using paper, it might be a good idea to print out
just the NewStuff file for each subsequent release and stick it on the
front of your older printout.
