[exim] Mail not being picked up by email client

Hi,

* Mail is being delivered by exim to /home/<username>/Maildir

My email client will not pickup the email once it has been delivered.
(via imap or pop3)
The connection from the client is authorised, but the mailbox is
reported as empty.

My question is how do I tell the client where the email folder is?

Here is my local_delivery config incase it is incorrect :

    local_delivery
    driver = appendfile
    mode = 0660
    mode_fail_narrower = false
    envelope_to_add = true
    return_path_add = true
    directory = /home/${local_part}/Maildir/
    maildir_format

My setup is :
Exim, SA, Clam, uw-imap
