Hello everyone,
I have a problem with one recipient domain that uses ******* MS Exchange
with following ******* greylisting software:
http://www.grynx.com/projects/greylist/
It breaks up the connection right after sending 451 error:
mail from: tdr1@???
250 2.1.0 tdr1@???....Sender OK
rcpt to: xxxx@???
451 4.7.1 Please try again later. Connection Greylisted with Greylist
(
http://www.grynx.com/projects/greylist/). If you've receive this in
error then check
http://www.greylisting.org/
Connection closed by foreign host.
Note the last line.
It dropped connection after signalling "451" instead of waiting for my
Exim server to disconnect.
I suspect this is the reason some mails to that domain get delayed more
than 48 hours -- in logs I get a series of following errors for
approximately that amount of time:
2007-10-01 00:54:09 1IbDzx-000Min-CS == xxxxx@???
R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp defer (-53): retry time not reached for any host
Could that be the case, i.e. could connection drop by remote host right
after issuing 4xx result in inability of Exim to deliver the message?
If so, is it possible to configure Exim to get around this problem?
